Intern Family Life Director Position!

First Lutheran Church, Shreveport, LA is a growing congregation with an active youth group that is presently expanding their sense of spirituality, ministry, and mission. We are offering a summer internship position with the option of full time employment at the conclusion of the intern program. We are looking for an Intern who is a committed Christian who loves our youth as much as we do and shares our vision of holistic, family oriented ministry.

We will fit our job description to satisfy certain academic/coursework requirements, with primary responsibilities as listed:

·        Work closely with our Evangelism/Fellowship Committee to plan and implement activities

·        Help organize youth activities (including trips, devotions, and Bible studies)

·        Provide confidential counseling and outreach for middle & high school age youth

·        Build connections between congregational activities and youth work

·        Assist with youth and children's worship and education on Sunday mornings, and

·        Make plans to expand our youth group.

The intern should be a baptized Christian. Lutheran identity is preferable. The position ranges from a 20-40 hour a week commitment, with compensation including a base hourly pay and possible housing allowance considered.
